【毎年新年初番組にオンエアされるPRJ独自のTOP10カウントダウン番組】
3つの音楽チャートを組み合わせ、昨年一年間、番組内で最も多くセレクトされ、フィーチャーされた楽曲の数々を1つのチャートに集約。
この番組で取り上げている音楽ジャンルは、通常アメリカの商業音楽チャートで最も人気のある音楽。世界中のあらゆる国の音楽を集め、リスナーによってテストされ、最も人気のある曲となる仕組みが、アメリカのポップ・カルチャー。
つまり、商業音楽業界においてアメリカの音楽チャートは、公共の電波で放送され、そしてナイトクラブのプレイリストに載るような音楽を審査する目的において、中心的な役割を担っているため、一元的な集計プラットフォームを確立するためには不可欠な存在です。
【算出手法】 当番組のTOP10カウントダウンでは、通常番組での選曲基準としているBillboard Hot 100のデータと、全米のラジオ局の「Airplay」 と呼ばれるオンエア回数に基づいたMEDIABASE音楽チャートの２つを参照します。
次に、この２本のチャートの中で、2023年に番組内でオンエアした楽曲だけを選出し、それ以外は除外とします。 最後に、番組内で最も多くプレイされた楽曲だけを選び、PRJのTOP10リストを決定していきます。
【注意】 実は、ビルボードとMEDIABASEの選曲方法には様々な違いがあるため、最終的な決定にはばらつきがでます。ビルボードとMEDIABASEは、各々の選曲システムと収集されたデータのレビューに基づいた算出であり、数字は概ねの概算であるとしています。つまり、決して正確で科学的な算出ではありません。
BillboardやMEDIABASEに掲載されている全ての楽曲がPRJ番組内のプレイリストに取り上げられたわけではないため、2023年内にPRJがセレクトしたベスト楽曲を決定するためには、入手可能なあらゆるデータを駆使して、前述の2つのチャートも確認した上でトップ10を最終決定。
テーマとするジャンルに合致する楽曲のみが選出されています。
【構成】PRJ TOP10カウントダウンでは、Party Radio Japanの番組で最も多くオンエアされた楽曲の中でトップ10をカウントダウンしていきます。
さらに、カウントダウンの特集コーナーとして、2018年から2022年の過去の音楽チャートからその年の1位を振り返ります。
新年の幕開けにふさわしい魅力的な番組！

The Method:
The PRJ Top 10 countdown radio show, broadcast ever year on the first Saturday of the year. It is a combination of 3 music charts to assemble a single chart noting the music most played and featured on the Party Radio Japan radio show. The genres covered on the show are usually the most popular music on commercial music charts from America. Pop culture in America brings together music from all nations around the world and is tested and weighed by listeners to become the most popular songs. The American music charts are essential in establishing a centralized platform for reviewing music that is broadcasted over public airwaves (and found on music lists from nightclubs) in the commercial music industry.
In our annual countdown program, we note that the PRJ TOP 10 COUNTDOWN radio program uses data collected from the Billboard Hot 100 (a genre we often rely on when building our playlist during the year), and the MEDIABASE music charts which is based on Radio Station ‘Airplay’ across America. We then look at both charts and reference only the songs we played on our radio show, filtering the rest out. We then choose the most played music on our show to determine our TOP 10 list.
We caution listeners there is a variance in the final decisions due to various different methods that Billboard and MEDIABASE uses to select music. They state the numbers are approximate based on their system of selection and reviewing data collected. In other words this will never be an exact science. We have to make the final decisions for our Top 10 after reviewing the 2 other charts, using whatever data is available to us in determining our best of 2023 for the music we selected during the year, because not all of the music on the Billboard and MEDIABASE was played on PRJ. Only songs that fit our themed genre were selected.

Structure:
The PRJ Top 10 Countdown with countdown the top 10 most played songs on the Party Radio Japan radio show. In addition, we will take a look at past music charts to review the #1 song of past years as a featured segment within the show. This incudes the #1 song for 2022, 2021, 2020, 2019 and 2018. This is a fascinating show to kick off the new year with. If you love music especially the popular, music we feature on PRJ, you will love what are presenting on January 6th 2024.
